How Much Will Cornell University Scholarship Cost?
International students must file a separate application for admission. The application fee is $80, plus an additional $30 charge per document. The university will waive the non-refundable portion of the application fee if you are admitted and choose to enroll at Cornell.
If you are not admitted, however, your application fee will not be refunded. If English is not your native language, you may need to pay for ESL certification exams before being admitted as well.
There are no application deadlines; prospective students can submit their documents anytime during the year, but as there are no full-time ESL courses offered on campus during summer semesters, it is best to plan on applying before March of the same calendar year.
Is The Application Different From Other College Applications?
International applicants may find the application for a College at Cornell challenging. This is because there are two different applications, one for international students applying for undergraduate admission, the other for international graduate school applicants.
One requirement of all the applications is that you submit standardized test scores from your home country’s board of education or department of education.
The rest of the requirements depend on whether you are applying as an undergraduate or a graduate student.
Graduate schools require GRE scores, transcripts from all colleges attended, two letters of recommendation and a writing sample in addition to transcripts and test scores.
What Are Cornell University Scholarship Requirements?
Cornell is an Ivy League university with a robust global presence. They offer merit-based international scholarships in the fields of arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and business. To be eligible for the international scholarships at Cornell you need a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Some exceptions apply but the majority of international scholarship offers require this GPA threshold. The application for these scholarships starts in February each year so get your applications ready!
For the school year, a one-time full tuition scholarship is offered to international students. But what are the requirements?
First, you have to be studying in the United States as an undergraduate on a degree-seeking program at Cornell.
Second, you need to be a citizen of a developing country.
Third, your study time at Cornell needs to take no more than two years; if you study for more than two years, this scholarship does not apply anymore.
Here are some other requirements below;
- Must be an international student
- Need to have completed at least the equivalent of 16 years of formal education before starting college.
- Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs (8 semesters maximum)
- GPA requirement is 3.0
