The Alberta Government International Award provides tuition and program-related fees support (up to $35,000 per year) toward a graduate degree at one of seven Alberta universities.

Recipients are also offered three years of additional funding support of $2,500 per year if they agree to work in Alberta or Northern Alberta after graduating.

Canadian Federation of Students – Federal Government

The Canadian Federation of Students is a non-profit organization that represents over 650,000 college and university students from across Canada.

Their scholarship programs are intended to encourage student participation in furthering their rights and responsibilities as citizens. They award over 1,000 scholarships each year valued at $2,000 or more (the amount varies by program).

This organization provides financing to small and medium-sized enterprises operating in both rural and urban communities throughout Canada.

In addition to financial assistance, they also offer mentorship support through their team of business professionals who have extensive experience with many aspects of starting a new business.

Carolyn Blunt Scholarship

This scholarship is available from Ottawa-based Voices Carry Initiative, who aim to encourage young women’s interest in science, technology, engineering and math.

Candidates must be a Canadian woman between 18 and 30 years old and enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a Canadian post-secondary institution.

Gordon B. Isnor Memorial Entrance Scholarship

The Gordon B. Isnor Memorial Entrance Scholarship is awarded on the basis of a student’s academic ability, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities and career goals.

This scholarship helps students fund their tuition fees at post-secondary institutions across Canada.

To be eligible for Gordon B. Isnor Memorial Entrance Scholarship, applicants must have an annual household income of less than $60,000 per year as well as proven financial need and a minimum cumulative grade average of 70 percent over 6 subjects or equivalent.

The Gordon B. Isnor Memorial Entrance Scholarship can be granted only once every 10 years to an applicant pursuing studies at any college, university or trade school located within Ontario, Canada.

Chinese Consulate General

The Chinese Consulate General Toronto provides numerous types of funding opportunities.

Scholarships are available to applicants from China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Scholarships can be used for either undergraduate or graduate studies at any accredited post-secondary educational institution in Canada.

There is a maximum of $7,500 available per student per year. Scholarship recipients will also receive support during their time at school including housing and tuition.

The scholarship awardees will be selected based on academic performance, work experience, extracurricular activities, community involvement and financial need.

It also offers several international scholarship programs that allow students from around the world to take part in its different workshops and training programs for periods of two weeks to one year.

In addition to paying all costs associated with attendance, international scholars receive stipends which range from $250-$1,200/month depending on level of study.

There are three CSC Scholarships. These are awarded by Commonwealth governments overseas, or by universities in Canada on behalf of participating Commonwealth governments.

Applicants must be citizens of a Commonwealth country other than Canada; and have already commenced, or intend to commence, full-time post-secondary studies at a Canadian institution before July.

It is expected that applicants will have completed one year of full-time post-secondary studies (or its equivalent) prior to applying for a CSC Scholarship. The Commonwealth Scholarships will be awarded on merit based on scholastic achievement and financial need.

Rotary Club of Winnipeg – Rob Matheson Athletic Award

One scholarship of $2,500 is awarded annually for full-time studies in any field at a post-secondary institution.

Applicants must be residents of Manitoba, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate outstanding athletic ability and contribute positively to their communities.

Canada Scholarships Program Global Affairs Canada

This program offers three types of awards for international students who wish to pursue a post-secondary education in Canada: The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (Master’s & PhD), The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Fellowship and The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship.

University Student Financial Awards Program (USFAP)

The University Student Financial Awards Program (USFAP) provides funding to students enrolled at eligible universities in Canada. Every year, thousands of Canadian and international students receive funding through USFAP awards.

U.K. Educational Awards Council – Commonwealth Scholarship Commission

The Educational Awards Council awards Commonwealth Scholarships to outstanding U.K.-based students, allowing them to complete undergraduate and postgraduate courses at institutions around Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

The scholarships cover flights and provide a living allowance of around $20,000 per year.

Application is via UCAS and eligible applicants must be British passport holders who have lived in England or Wales for at least three years prior to starting their course, regardless of nationality or ethnicity.

Applicants must also be undertaking full-time study on an undergraduate or postgraduate level at a regionally accredited institution; part-time applications will not be considered.
