The Fulbright New Zealand Scholarship
The Fulbright New Zealand Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship to study at the University of Auckland. The Fulbright Scholarship is open to International Students in New Zealand with high academic achievement and who have been nominated by their school, university or employer.
Nominees must be under 30 years old, fluent in English, and able to provide evidence of financial need. The Fulbright New Zealand Scholarship provides an opportunity for US citizens to experience another culture and study the language and people of another country.

It also provides a unique opportunity for international students from other countries to study at a leading educational institution in the New Zealand.
International Postgraduate Research Scholarships – University of Auckland
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship is offered by the University of Auckland as a partial tuition fee scholarship. The scholarship covers a percentage of the student’s total tuition fees and is awarded on academic merit.
It is also available to students who are not from an English speaking country, where there are restrictions on what scholarships they can apply for.

Peter S.K Buckland Memorial Fund – Massey University
The Peter S.K Buckland Memorial Fund provides scholarships to students from the Asia-Pacific region, with preference given to students who are either Asian or Pacific Islanders. The scholarship is open to students of any discipline and was established by Massey University in honour of their late Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Buckland.
The value of the scholarship varies depending on the student’s course and fees, but can be up to $7000 per year (or 75% of fees) for up to 4 years. This is a higher level award than many other scholarships available for International Students in New Zealand at Massey University, which typically range from $2500-$5000 per year (or 25%-50% of fees).

Massey University offers one Peter S.K Buckland Memorial Fund Scholarship each year.
NZ Chinese Scholarship Trust
The NZ Chinese Scholarship Trust is a non-profit organisation that helps international students fund their studies in New Zealand.
The scholarship is open to any student who has applied to study at one of the following universities:
- University of Auckland
- AUT University
- Victoria University of Wellington
- Massey University.
There are two options for this scholarship: $2500 over the duration of your study or $5000 upfront.

To be eligible, you must be an international student from China and have an acceptance letter from a NZ institution.
Jim Allen Scholarship
The Jim Allen Scholarship is an annual scholarship that provides financial assistance to students from the Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau or Samoa who attends a school in New Zealand.
The scholarship was established by Mr Jim Allen of Glenorchy, who was born and raised on the Cook Islands. He arrived in New Zealand as a child refugee from World War II with his family.
The scholarship recognizes the important work being done by Pacific students living and studying outside their home country to support their families at home through remittances and other support.

James Cook University Academic Awards Programme

Students at James Cook University
The James Cook University Academic Awards Programme offers scholarships to outstanding International Students in New Zealand.
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and suitability with the university’s objectives.
Applicants must be able to attend James Cook University, be an international student, have completed their first degree or diploma from a recognized tertiary institution, and have an excellent academic record.

Sir Owen Woodhouse Fellowship – Victoria University of Wellington
The Sir Owen Woodhouse Fellowship is a postgraduate scholarship offered by Victoria University of Wellington. The fellowship provides tuition fee waivers and living expenses to a student from the Asia-Pacific region who is enrolled at Victoria University of Wellington or Massey University.
The award aims to support students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and an awareness of the challenges faced by their communities.

The fellowship will be awarded on the basis of merit to an international student from one of the Asia-Pacific countries which are members of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar.
Victoria Univeristy of Wellington Graduate Awards
The Victoria University of Wellington Graduate Awards is an international scholarship scheme that offers tuition fees and a stipend to international students who have completed their undergraduate degrees and are seeking masters or doctoral degrees.
The awards also provide opportunities for scholarships to PhD candidates.
There are two categories: one is the Postgraduate Award with a tuition fee waiver, which is open to all degree holders; and the other is the Masters Scholarship, which has a full tuition fee waiver, but only to those wishing to pursue masters-level studies at Victoria University of Wellington. Both scholarships include a stipend.

B+M Schlegel Graduate Award – Massey University
The B+M Schlegel Graduate Award is awarded annually to a PhD student of Massey University who has completed their first year of study.
The award provides an annual stipend of NZ$18,000. It is available to students of any nationality and it can be renewed for up to three years.
To be eligible, candidates must have spent at least six months studying at Massey University prior to the application date and they are required to have an excellent academic record as well as evidence of financial need.
